Good morning, all. Today we are focusing on all things FYS/Presentation unless you have any other specific questions. Go ahead and get into your groups when you arrive and check in on the progress that you all have made over the weekend!

Not exactly what we had in mind...
Reminder
Unless you are making up a missed exam or the history quiz (from the very beginning of the semester), you do not need to be in history today.
I will be in my office, if any of you would like to meet up to discuss materials for your presentations...
Presentations
Graded presentations begin in class next week on Wednesday. You should treat these presentations as if your were actually at FYS. In other words, come prepared with a polished trifold, polished PowerPoint, and appropriate oral presentation.
If you have ANY questions about this assignment or process, you need to speak with me immediately.
Our next Reading Quiz is happening on Wednesday and will cover AEUSH reading 3.4: "Abolitionist or Terrorist".
Most advisors should start having more openings now that the first round of registration has ended. If you have questions about dropping classes, withdrawing from the university, or things like changing your major, I strongly suggest speaking to your academic advisor.
If these folks don't know the answer to the question, they usually can find the folks who do.
Friday, November 9th is the last day to drop a class. Remember, this can impact financial aid, so you should reach out to a financial aid advisor, your peer mentor, or your academic advisor with any questions.
AND...yes, it is possible to carry on in the Learning Community if you drop a single class, but most (if not all) integrated assignments will still need to be completed as they count in all your other LC courses.
As usual, if you have questions, just ask! :)
Today
Blurb Finalization
Ya blurbs...update them!
Trifold and PowerPoint Drafting
Spend the rest of today's class working on your Trifold Template (see homework) or sorting out details for your PowerPoint.
Both of these must be finalized by next week, so I strongly suggest delegating work, if your group is falling a bit behind.
In addition, I am happy to watch "Presentation drafts" during my office hours and provide feedback. Just remember to email and make an appointment if you need to visit during a time that isn't already covered by pre-existing office hours.
Homework
Trifold Template
You can use the paper that I gave you in today's class or your own paper.
On this paper, create the overall design that you plan on using for your Trifold.
You need to create/place any text. Identify color choices. Include rough approximations of images, charts, or other materials you plan to incorporate into this visual. (You might include a description of these images on the back of the paper to clarify their intended meaning.)
To submit this document to me, you will take a photo or scan the document and upload this to the appropriate BB space. This will count as a Daily Work grade.
You will then take the physical copy of this template with you to Writing and Rhetoric with Professor Flores.
