Hello everyone. As I said in my Blackboard announcement, today's class is cancelled. Instead of class, please review the notes below and complete the activities that I have described. Please email me with any questions that you have regarding any of this material.

Reminders

• Registration is officially one week away. I hope you have had time to visit your advisors and have cleared all your holds. I strongly suggest you have at least two "rough" schedules planned, just in case some of the more popular classes/times are filled before you register.

Today

• S&T #3

• You should work on drafting your S&T #3 Presentation

• Your total presentation must be 5-7 minutes in length.

• I strongly encourage you to practice your presentation at least once to make sure you fall within the time limit.

• You must have some visual element with your presentation.

• This visual must be submitted to BB prior to the start of Tuesday's class.

• Submit your Mind Map

• If you haven't finished this, please complete it and slide it under my office door before 5:00 PM today.

• Take a look at the mind map that you have created.

• Which of your subtopics has the most information?

• Can you craft a 5-7 minute presentation around that subtopic?

• What research could you incorporate into this presentation?

• What visual element will you create to help discuss/display this information?

• After this activity, you should have a fairly good idea of what you would like to pursue for S&T #3. I strongly suggest that you begin drafting your oral presentation now, and make sure to practice it at least once.

Homework

• Everyone should be prepared to present in class on Tuesday. This means you have your visual prepared at this time, too.
