Hello everyone. As I said in my BB announcement, today's class is canceled. Instead of class, please review my notes below, and continue to work on your Intersections Project.

Reminders
Registration is officially one week away. I hope you have had time to visit your advisors and have cleared all your holds. I strongly suggest you have at least two "rough" schedules planned, just in case some of the more popular classes/times are filled before you register.
Included is a tentative schedule for the work we will be doing on the Intersections Project. If you miss a class, please keep in mind that you should continue working on this sequence...
Tentative Schedule
Genre #1 Drafting (10/25)
Genre #1 Peer Review (10/30)
Genre #2 Drafting (11/01)
Genre #2 Peer Review (11/06)
Genre #3 Drafting (11/08)
Genre #3 Peer Review (11/13)
Final Portfolio (12/07)
Today
Informative "Blurb"
Please submit this blurb today.
In your blurb, please identify the "need" you are trying to address.
Also, identify the specific audience you are targeting.
Finally, identify the "genre" that you are creating and the method or platform you would use to distribute this genre to your audience "in the real world."
Genre #1 Drafting
You have a need that you are attempting to address by speaking to / writing to / communicating with a certain audience.
You are creating specific genre to reach this audience.
For today, you need to begin drafting this genre.
You are not writing an essay or informative paper. You are drafting the actual genre that you have chosen to communicate with your intended audience.
Homework
Please turn in your Blurb by close of business (11:59 PM) today.
Please submit your most recent Discovery Blog by Sunday at 11:59 PM.
Remember, this should be based on credible and/or scholarly research and directly linked to your topic for the Intersections work.
Reading
Let's tackle the whole Genres in the Wild reading. You have read pieces of this previously, so some of this will be review, but I would like to discuss this whole thing in a bit more detail on Tuesday.
