We are now in the end zone. Everything that we do from here on out is critical to your success on IA 2 and Exam 2. Please make sure you read all the material in these plans carefully and complete all assignments. Failure to do so could have unpleasant, long-term consequences. Happy Monday, y'all.

This. Is. Happening.
Reminder
Keep an eye on your Holds. Some holds take several days to resolve even after you have done your side of things. Fix things now to avoid delays in registration.
You can find your Holds in SAIL > Student Records > Holds. If you aren't sure what things mean, ask a friend or come see me.
You can also speak to your advisor.
Your advisors can be found on Degree Planner or by doing a general search through the TAMUCC website.
Use this worksheet to help organize your materials prior to your visit.
Midterms GPA: Midterm grades will be posted at the end of this month. You can see the majority of your averages on Blackboard already, but if you have questions, you should reach out to your faculty.
You can use this link to calculate your midterm GPA.

First Year Symposium (FYS): Integrated Assignment #2
A quick reminder for you all: FYS is the third genre/situation of your Intersections Project for Professor Flores.
The oral presentation along with your visual element will make up our IA #2 grade.
You will be connecting your Research Issue/Problem/Topic to some concept, person, event that falls within our HIST 1301 timeline.
This shouldn't be a new concept, as most of you discussed this with Professor Flores at your conferences earlier this month.
This is also something Dr. Wooster has done regularly in lecture:
Alien and Sedition Acts connect to current immigration policy.
Antifederalists/Loose interpretation connect to the Affordable Care Act.
Once you have your Historical focus (no later than Friday), I will group you with 2-3 other classmates who are discussing issues that could fall under a similar theme.
This group and its theme will be the base of your Presentation
Brainstorming your HIST focus
Get out a sheet of paper...
On this paper, start listing possible connections to historical moments.
As you see in the examples above, sometimes you can connect to a specific event or person, but sometimes your connections can be to a more general practice or theory.
Share your ideas with your neighbors.
Do your notes make sense to them? Can they offer any good suggestions or possible alternative ideas?
Take this sheet of paper with your to Writing and Rhetoric on Wednesday. It should tie in with an activity that Professor Flores has you working on.
Homework
Please fill add your information to this spreadsheet no later than Friday at midnight.
Seriously, I have to get you guys grouped up no later than Monday, so this needs to happen quick, fast, and in a hurry.
Feds v. Dem.Rep.
Go ahead and complete this handout prior to Wednesday's class. Use your books, notes, etc. You can even phone a friend.
