Today we will finish the last few S&T Presentations and move on to drafting our Reflective Overviews. I will provide a sample for you to see one of the ways a RO can look. We will also schedule conferences for next week, so please make sure to sign up before you leave class today.

...until your Reflective Overview is due.

Reminders

  • You must clear all holds prior to registration at the end of the month.

  • One of the holds that some of you have on your account is connected to the Think About It activity. You are required to complete this in order to lift the hold.

  • Go to this page to access the Think About It.

  • The course takes approximately 60 minutes to complete, so set aside some time to take care of it.

  • Writing Project 2 is due today for 1302.

  • If you are interested in American Politics in action, the flyer attached here is for a debate occurring between two Texas candidates running for Senator.

  • The two candidates represent two very different (but popular) perspectives present in America.

  • Research Conferences for Tuesday, October 16th.

  • Please sign up for a conference time. If these times don't work, we can easily create new ones.

  • Do NOT skip a class to attend this conference!

Today

  • Let's Finalize S&T #2

  • Reminder: Everyone should be off their electronic devices and listening to the speakers.

  • Reflective Overview Workshop

  • Reminders

  • Be sure that you are using the template and process that are provided to you. In order to complete this document successfully, you should utilize all available resources.

  • All student in this class will turn in a Reflective Overview.

  • Some of you will focus on 0399 and Seminar in your RO. Some of you will focus on Seminar and other courses.

  • Make sure you are using the appropriate template from Blackboard. They are clearly labelled.

  • Check out a student sample:

  • Sample 1

  • Note: This sample is not perfect, but it is an example of a RO created by a student.

  • Please do not quote, paraphrase, or summarize material from this sample. I am familiar with its contents, and using this material in your own writing not acceptable

Homework

  • Submit one of your SLO sections from you Reflective Overview to Blackboard no later than Sunday at 11:59 PM.

  • There is space for this under Assignments > Daily Work > SLO Section

  • A section is not the same thing as a paragraph. If you look at the student sample linked above, you will see that sometimes one SLO section has multiple paragraphs.

  • For the purposes of this assignment please submit all the paragraphs associated with the SLO.
