First there is a thing. Then there is another thing. And finally, you guessed it, a thing! Exciting times at Island University.

Halloween themed .gifs are commencing now.
Reminders
Registration cometh! Check out my various links below:
The schedule goes live on SAIL on October 15th. Plan accordingly.
Find your advisor and make an appointment ASAP.
Use Degree Planner to build at least two different versions of your schedule.
Last but not least, check your SAIL for Holds. You cannot register if you have holds, so take care of them before they become a problem.
Wednesday's Reading Quiz #4 is over AEUSH 3.3 "Wall Street's First Collapse."
Your Midterm Portfolio for W/R is due on Friday, October 12th.
Professor Flores has provided you some Reflective Overview samples for inspiration, but you are very much expected to tell your own story.
Want to talk about being a good citizen? Vote. (No, you don't get extra credit.)
I don't care who you vote for, but spend time researching the various candidates and make an informed choice.
Today
Let's get this show on the road.
Get out your tech!
IA #1: Notes
Be sure to use the template! It is there to help you organize your writing.
Also, just because each section has one label, doesn't mean it only has one paragraph. You should use paragraph breaks the way you regularly do.
Citation
See my previous plans for help with in-text citations and your References page.
Also, your References page is its own separate page and DOES NOT count towards your page limit.
Remember, it is better to cite incorrectly than not to cite at all. Failure to cite your sources is considered plagiarism
Submitting your work
I know that you are submitting this as a "part" of your Portfolio for Writing and Rhetoric, but I would also like to have a copy.
Go to BB. Under Assignments > IA #1 > IA Final Draft
As always, reach out for help if you need it. Both Professor Flores and I are happy to work with you on this document.
Bust out your notes: What do we know so far?
What do we remember about the Articles of Confederation?
The Constitution is ratified. How did we get here?
After ratification, what became the next great debate?
How did Hamilton plan to solidify our nation?
Homework
Prepare for Reading Quiz #4.
