Welcome to October, ladies and gents. We are well on our way to finishing up the semester. Before then, we have a few things to check up on. Today, we will have a group chat regarding your progress on your Research Proposals. In addition, a visit from our academic advisor to answer your questions. Let's do it!

Make sure you included your references for your secondary sources in your IA #1!
Reminders
Reading Quiz #3 over AEUSH 3.2 is happening on Wednesday.
You can bring one 3X5 index card, with notes on the front side only, to class to assist you with the quiz.
You have gotten your first draft of your IA#1 submitted. Please take the Peer Review that you have been assigned seriously.
This activity will help improve your grade on the assignment which will pay off in all THREE of your LC classes.
Don't forget to come see us during office hours if you have questions regarding your assignments or averages! We are here to help.

Exam 1 Postmortem
Let's Kahoot.
Follow this link to our handy Kahoot game. You will need your technology.
Exam 1 will be returned at the end of Seminar on Wednesday. Unless I have made a math error (Dear Dog, please check!), I will not answer questions about the exam or your grade until 24 hours have passed.

Assignment Steps
Separate into groups of 5. Each member of the group should be prepared to introduce their topic to their group members and respond to questions.
While the speaker is introducing his/her topic, the person the left of them should be taking notes. These notes should include paraphrased information from the original speaker, as well as commentary from the rest of the group.
As the speaker changes, so too should the note taker.
At the end of class, each speaker should receive the notes about their individual session.
Questions
What topic is the speaker proposing? In what ways could this topic be viewed as controversial, powerful, unique, and/or relevant? In other words, why would audiences be interested in knowing more about this subject?
What aspect of this topic do you find the most interesting? Why would audiences be interested in knowing more about this subject?
Based on the speaker’s discussion, what is at least one question that you have about their topic?
Homework
Continue to work on your IA #1 as needed and be sure you are drafting your other Writing/Rhetoric documents with your Midterm Portfolio in mind.
