Mondays, IA Q&A, Exam Preparations, oh my! We have a lot to do today, and I hope you are prepared to put in some serious work on your review materials. The countdown begins...roughly 72 hours until Exam 1. Bring the pain!

Pictured above: Someone's students. Not my students. Definitely not my students.

Reminders

  • Reading Quiz #3 is over AEUSH 3.2 and is happening Wednesday, October 3rd.

  • On Wednesday, I will be joining you in your Writing and Rhetoric classroom. We will not see one another during our regular seminar time period.

  • If you need to complete your History Quiz, you need to contact me ASAP. The last day to complete this quiz is Wednesday.

  • If you aren't sure about the work that you are doing for IA #1, please reach out. All LC faculty can assist you with this document

Today

  • IA Q&A

  • How are things going?

  • Blink once for everything is fine and twice for help.

  • Let's see what sources we have found thus far.

  • Just go down the rows and shout out your source/topic of choice.

  • No...seriously...do it.

  • Break Out Sessions

  • Today we divide and conquer.

  • Real talk, who is confident with the essay questions? What about the chronologies?

  • Link to Google .doc

  • Teams 1 and 2 (4 people per team: Preferably folks who have already started drafting...)

  • You will have essay questions 2 and 3 to work with. Use all available resources to create functioning outlines.

  • Start with a general outline first and then go back and plug in all the evidence that your LC E faculty are looking for.

  • More is definitely more with this exam.

  • Teams 3 and 4 (4 people per team: Only people with stellar notes for this section!)

  • You are on chronology duty. Use the previous chronologies as examples, and go through and build the remaining chronologies for your classmates.

  • Team 5 (depends on attendance: Only people who have completed the readings are in this space!)

  • You get Reading Terms.

  • Check out the Exam Review. Locate the old review that we created for the reading quiz. Use that information and all new materials to finalize as many of the Reading Terms as possible.

Homework

  • Continue to prepare for Exam 1. Utilize the resources we have created as a class, in addition to your own materials.

  • Additional notes:

  • Remember to show up to Dr. Wooster's class a little early.

  • Make sure all your technology is turned off. VIBRATE IS NOT OFF. Seriously, the buzzing is louder than the ringing.

  • Make sure you have multiple pens/pencils.

  • When you are thinking about turning your work in at the 30 minute mark...don't. Just don't.

  • Sit down and review your matching/chronologies and then reread your essay.

  • Work, work, work on IA #1. This isn't going away or being put on pause.
