Boom. Authority.

  • You have completed your first round of S&T. If you have any suggestions for different topics, feel free to propose them.

  • Please, review the reading from "Frameworks": Authority is Constructed and Contextual

  • Next, open up a Google document and respond to the following prompts:

  • Name a figure who you view as an "authority" in your own life. What is the nature of your relationship/interactions with this person?

  • How is this person's authority constructed?

  • What are their areas of expertise? How do they demonstrate credibility in these areas?

  • In what way is their authority limited?

  • Personal Authority

  • In what contexts are you an authority? How did you construct this authority?

  • What about as a novice writer?

  • In what ways can you build authority as a writer?
