Today we will spend the bulk of class discussing our NWWK sections and answering any questions you have about your first round of Show and Tell. If time permits, we will play a round of Flying Tiger...you will probably hate me for this, but I can deal with that.

Pictured above: How it feels to start reading NWWK.
Reminders
Don't forget about the different things going on during Hispanic Heritage Month.
There are activities for everyone. Some are academic, some involve food and music, and others are organized by specific campus groups.
Today
Text Talk
Go ahead and reconnect with your group and finalize your discussion of your NWWK section.
Be sure that all groups members are prepared to speak.
This is meant to be informal, but we still want to put in a solid effort to work with the reading content.
Group 1: 1.0 Writing is a Social and Rhetorical Activity
Group 2: 1.2 Writing Addresses, Invokes, and/or Creates Audiences
Group 3: 2.0 Writing Speaks to Situations Through Recognizable Forms
Group 4: 3.3 Writing is Informed by Prior Experience
As a class...
Why do you think we are asking you to engage with these concepts?
What "real-world" connections can you make between these theoretical concepts and you own experiences?
Can you think of any assignments that you have completed in this LC to which these ideas could be applied?
Show and Tell #1
What do you have to do?
For how long?
Where do you have to do it?
When must you do it?
Flying Tigers (time permitting)
You have two options...ask a question OR tell us a thing!
Homework
Prepare you S&T #1 for Tuesday's class.
Remember, timing is important. Stay within the 3-5 minute limit.
Make sure you submit your free write (brainstorming document) to BB prior to the start of class.
Don't forget about your NWWK reading for 0399.
Make sure you submit your WP #1 for Writing and Rhetoric on Thursday, September 20th no later than 10:45 AM
