Today is Labor Day. There is no class. I am including a few notes and reminders on today's plans, to help you stay on track with your other assignments and readings.

You know you miss us.
Notes and Reminders
Moving forward...
Now that the first week has passed, faculty expect students to have access to all necessary class materials. This includes but is not limited to:
Textbooks
Islander email
Blackboard access
Familiarity with class websites
An understanding of the syllabus
UPD will also begin issuing tickets for those of you who are missing parking permits or those of you who are parking in places that are not designated under your particular permit.
If you have questions about any of the items listed above, please reach out to the appropriate source for assistance.
Note taking
Hopefully you are keeping a careful collection of notes for Dr. Wooster's class. In order to help facilitate your understanding of what content is viewed as "significant", I am posting a non-graded "Practice Note Quiz" on BB.
This assignment will help you assess whether or not you are taking accurate notes in the course.
Use your notes to complete the activity. All questions will be based on the notes from Wednesday/Friday of this week.
This assignment is not for a grade.
LC E Homework
Writing and Rhetoric
Check the class plans for all assigned readings.
You have three writing assignments that you should be working on and submitting at various dates. See Writing/Rhetoric class plans/BB for additional information.
History
Check Dr. Wooster's syllabus for all assigned readings.
Your History blue books are due no later than September 9th.
Your only History quiz (5% of your grade) will occur on September 14th. Content from the readings and lecture will be on this quiz. You will not be able to use your notes.
